Girl in Hyperreality

American Girl doll has been a long staple of many American households. It is a rite of passage of quite a few little girls here in the US. Sweet little BMW with many accessories. Myths are built around it. American Girl, the brave, the colonial heroine, the depression child, the gymnast, the pony rider. Not bad for $100 doll.

  1. Cool pictures. I have a much bigger problem with Barbie, etc. At least these dolls don’t make little girls think that they need to get breast implants in order to be accepted.

  2. I think because their eyes are mostly shaded it makes them scary. The one with the rows of heads makes me think of the Stepford wives! Cool photos.
